Could be. and yes I have found that a majority of LFS employees are. You find the occasional smart one, but only occasionaly. crazie.eddie is probably right, and it is probably molting. However (and this is unlikely) you may have a brackishwater bamboo shrimp. If it continues to be pale after a mont...

mostly algae with the occasional algae wafer. I even scraped a thick film of algae of the frog tank downstairs (lights on 24-7) and put it in my tank where it is occasionaly nibbled on. but that is the only shrimp that has it. I notice some of it broke off last night but it started a new one :P I wo...

strange.....
I just looked in my tank and noticed my red nose shrimp is carrying a long line of sh*t. thats right. poop. I saw this before, but I didn't get a good look at it and I thought it was debris. I was wrong. It connects to its back end and is most definately attached to it's "sand vein". This ...

I don't think it is a female. The female ghost shrimp I've seen have had a a larger back and seem a bit more clunky looking while the males have a more streamlined looking shape. I have a pregnant female right now, and I see what you're talking about, but the orange is mostly in the body, rather tha...

I just emailed the place I bought the ghost from and complained. I didn't demand compensation, since I am not 100% sure that it is a macro, and it would be very hard to prove it is not a slightly larger than average ghost shrimp. I have noticed an orange glow on its shell. It is very hard to describ...

I have had 2 or 3 pregnant females also, although I think I may only have 1 female that isn't the death white. I may have 3 healthy (including the questionable male) and 2-3 death white in my tank right now because I over fed and my nitrates have built up and caused PH crashes. I've just gotten a ba...

It looks almost like the first 3 pictures. it is clear and has purple-ish dark lines on some of its segments. If it is a baby macro, then how did it get mixed in with farm raised ghosts? I will continue watching. It seems to have settled down a bit. I just saw it run after something in the water, an...

Wow. the ghost shrimp I saw eating the cherry shrimp was my large male (same one causing the problems) and it had not only been eating the cherry, it had the cherry in one of its claws, and its grip looked pretty strong. there were no signs of decay on the shrimp, but there was an indent where it's ...

Agressive ghosts?
Does anyone know how aggressive ghost shrimp are? because I recently recieved some redfronted/red nose shrimp and some sand shrimp (machrobrachium mirabile) and I've noticed that some of my ghost shrimps are hunting and annoying the new arrivals. They run up to them, and then the new ones jump away....
