Nice pic badflash. Now I might need to blow the dust off my camara. How are everyone else's blue cajuns doing? I am still working very well with this strain/morph. My experiments so far have proved fruitless. I am not sure what makes them blue or not blue or somewhat blue. I would say they are more ...

This looks like a red claw Cherax quadricarinatus. Very easy to breed and keep. Always keep a tight lid on their tank. They love escaping. I have kept this species before and they will breed easily as long as you have mail and female.

Thanks for the tip. I order all my food from the same guy and another place out of florida. Food is very critical. It plays a daily role in our regime. It is best to watch all factors in the life and death of your animals.

Thanks

I would say bluish with a hint of other colors. Great job badflash. Mine still vary as much. I am now conducting an experiment as far as food goes. I have seperated 4 groups of 10 cajuns into 10 gallon tanks. 10 per tank. Each tank is getting a different food. With 4 different foods being used. Mine...

The method of moving males only seems to work the best. I use to do this with my cajuns. But Now I have so many I do not worry about it anymore. I use to set up 10 gallon breeder tanks and put 1 male and 3 females in. After females were holding I would take the male out and move him. After the femal...

My crays are also fed a diet high in Spirulina. I use the hbh brand. I feed a great variety of food also. They also receive color bits. The blue is stable on some of them and has not switched back. My hatches are getting better. Right now I have around 500 of them and I would say 80% of them show bl...

These guys are tricky as far as their color goes. I have some that stay blue all the time and some that change their color. Might be a little while before we can keep them this color always.

Black pvc floats. It makes great cover for fish that like to hide near the surface.

If you buy pipe in diameters of 1 1/4 or smaller. They sell it in 10 foot sections. They also have a tool that I bought that can cut through it with ease. It is a pvc pipe cutter and should cost between 10 and 15 dollars. This can be bought at lowes or home depot. Saves alot of time in labor and hav...

Yes. I always buy it new to make sure it is safe. Be careful with used pvc unless you know where it came from. When I was breeding some larger crays I would have a crap load of cut up pvc in the tanks. It works perfect. Each cray will pick out a section. Good luck with whatever your working with. Ja...
