Ya I plan to separate them and try selectively breeding them if they don't change color on me when they get larger. Hopefully I have a male and female.

Look at my Black/Blue shrimp.....

So I noticed these two black/dark blue shrimp in my green shrimp tank a few weeks ago. They have grown since them but are still the same color. I know sometime baby green shrimp are reddish but as far as I know they aren't normally this color. Anyone seen something like this before? I had a hard tim...

I just saw a berried one yesterday so hopefully I should have some babies soon. I couldn't get a good look at her because she was hiding on the underside of a piece of wood out of the light. I will try and get a picture when she comes out and I get my camera back from my parents.

They are doing ok. I lost some of them but the other ones are eating. A few of them have kind of lost most their blue color and look red now (which I know is generally a sign of stress). I am not sure what else to do with them other then give them time and hope they make it.

I keep spixis snails in all my shrimp tanks. I like them because they eat hydra :). I have CRS, RCS, and other species and haven't noticed any problems with the shrimp not breeding or the snails doing anything other then getting a little pushy when they find the food.

I am not a big fan of the dark blue ones because they look almost black. The lighter blue ones are the ones in the pics....you can actually see the stripes and the blue.

They breed true....sorta. The orange eyes breed completely true and the blue is about 50%, with the other ones looking like normal tiger shrimp.

This is according to the guy I purchased them from in Germany.

doesn't really answer my question. It says that they can survive at 86 but doesn't address whether they breed faster at 86 then at 80 or 82 or 70 or whatever.

Whats the recommended temp for Cherry Shrimp?

I know the range they can be kept in but I also have noticed that they grow faster in higher temps. Does anyone know around what temp you would see maximum productivity? I want to warm them up to get them breeding faster but I don't want to kill them. I assume the same temp should work for snowball,...
