Nice! What are the dimensions of that tank?
Also, sorry for being so dim, I've just spotted a link to the left-hand side that says "Forum User Galleries", doh, my bad! http://www.petshrimp.com/cpg/

Sub forum for showing pics of our shrimp tanks?
Was surprised this didn't already exist really. Would be cool to see some pics of how other people have scaped their shrimp tanks. I've just set up my new tank and through experience I know there needs to be a lot of hiding places for my shrimp, but would just be interesting to see what other people...

Re: snail recommendations
In a small tank of mine they became a bit of a problem. Because they breed so fast, they quickly outnumbered my shrimp. What it meant was that when I dropped in crab cuisine pellets, often they would just gauged on by a ton of snails before the shrimp even realised the food was there. A lot of the t...

Re: Few pointers on new RCS tank please...
That's exactly what I've just done, thanks skipm.
Today I went and bought a glass tank that measures 23x12x12inches. Also a sponge filter along with an air pump.

Re: Few pointers on new RCS tank please...
I did say that I have a large sponge on the intake of my HOB filter. They love it.

Re: Few pointers on new RCS tank please...
That's pretty cool, but by hiding so much of the media it means the shrimp wont be able to feast as much!

Re: Few pointers on new RCS tank please...
Currently I have one of those hang over the back filters with a big bit of sponge over the intake.
How do the standard sponge filters work? What do I need to buy to make one?
Thanks.

Few pointers on new RCS tank please...
Some of you may have read my other threads, I currently have a very small (i.e. less than 10gal) tank that houses 5 RCS. One got sick recently and I think it was due to ammonia - seems better now though. Basically I am going to get a cube tank that is 18x18x18inches so 25gal. I would just like opini...

Re: Sick RCS?! Help!
There are 4 test results there, actually. Nitrite is at 0.
Anyway, good advice, I am gonna get some mature media and add it.
Bizarrely the little RCS is still alive, although still spazzing out.

Water test results...
Date Ammonia Nitrate Nitrite pH
11/2/08 0.1 2.5 0 7.4
This tank is 4gal.
The RCS is still BRIGHT red - I thought if one was distressed it would lose its redness?

Sick RCS?! Help!
Got home tonight and one of my females seems really sick.
She keeps just falling over like a drunk. Stays still for a while, then moves slightly, falls over again. Twice she has sort of spazzed out, like a big twitch.
Any ideas what is up with her?
Thanks.
p.s. I'm gonna test my water now.

Re: Surfactant
At least you can actually get pure ammonia in the States. You cant get it at all in Australia. Give up using the foaming stuff though - nothing good will come of it. I took some poor advice that I could continue using the Cloudy Ammonia, cos once the cycle had finished I could do a 95% water change ...

Re: Anyone using Purigen?
Cool, I'd be interested to know of your progress.
One other person I spoke to was against it because he believed that if you bred shrimp in such clean water, when the shrimp would be moved to a tank that wasn't using Purigen... they might die.

Anyone using Purigen?
Is anyone using Purigen in their shrimp tanks? Or have any experience in doing so?
Seems like a good way to help keep clean water - but at what expense? Will it remove too much of the needed stuff too?
