Re: Waste Control supplement

Hi grimvixen, Welcome to the forum. I think you’ll find that most of us here keep our shrimp in shrimp only tanks. Fish in a shrimp tank bring a host of challenges for your shrimp, of which waste production is just one. (Please see article on beginners FAQ) This place is a storehouse of info, most a...

Re: Young Cardinal Shrimp

That’s what I have read. Alas, I may well have to do without. I was hoping that perhaps you were able to get them to acclimate to something a little closer to the 6.7 we have here in the northwest. Oh well maybe they will, but I'm not willing to experiment, because they’re so blinking expensive at t...

Re: Young Cardinal Shrimp

Bill,
Glad to hear they have acclimated to their new home and have thrown juvies. That’s half the battle.
I'm really hoping some viable colonies can be established here in the U.S. What water parameters are you keeping them in? Please keep us informed. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Lowest temperature you've kept CRS?

I keep all three of my CRS tanks as close to 73-74F(23c) as I can. They have dropped as low as 70 and as high as 76... My CRS have flourished. How much of this is temp alone, I couldn't honestly say. I do know that with all my inverts I have had far more problems when the temps have climbed too high...

Re: My new CRS SS Tank

I'll be the first to admit it's all a bit subjective. Grade SS (No-entry, hinomaru + one line, Double Circle of Sun, hinomaru) Grade S+ (White portion is large with special features like large tiger tooth, large V-bands) There are several other grades.Do a search for CRS grading guide, you will find...

Re: Could we be importing something more from Sulawesi

Wow Bill, tuff call at this point hopefully it is just an injury and will go away after the next molt.... But I also know what these babies cost, so I definitely understand your concern aside from the fact that these are our pets and we all develop an attachment to them. I personally am a wait and s...

Re: May I introduce myself

Hi Mark, I see several different sizes, do you breed them? I'm sorry Guba, I wasn't ignoring your question...I missed it completely. My CRS, Bee, Tiger, Snowball and RCS are all between six weeks and a year and half. My Yellows are about six months old and have been dropping shriplets like c...
