Hi Mustafa, You're wellcome ! In fact, I should be the one who says THANK YOU. This is an excellent forum indeed. It's enjoyable to share a hobby with so many shrimp lovers and a shrimp expert (i.e. YOU) here. I started to keep shrimp not long ago. Now all my shrimps are doing well. I can handle the...

Shop keepers here say that pregnant shrimps "embrace" their eggs between their legs outside their bodies when in fact I can see the eggs inside their transparent abdomen. What they say sounds incredible. I've asked myself, "Will it be too tiring for them to "embrace" the egg...

Please see if my way of moving the shrimps can minimize stress: Get a plastic container (like the size of a cup or bigger), net the shrimp (don't remove it from water), put the plastic container into the water near the net, make/ wait the shrimp go into the container, then move it to somewhere else ...

The tigers were swimming around. The tetra were not interested in them at all. They just took a glance at the shrimps and swam away. I'm happy to see that they can get along well.

Hi Edinjapan,

Here in the fish street in Hong Kong, shops sell both old and new issues, but at the same price. Magazines issued in year 2003 cost the same as 2005 issues.

Hi Edinjapan,

I can't remember exactly. The shop keeper introduced it to me, but I can't read the language and therefore I didn't pay attention to the details. As far as I remember, the background colour of the cover is white, with many tiny red shrimps in the middle.

Hi Louie, I understand it will be meaningless if we can't see our shrimps when we in fact keep them in the tank. I also understand shrimps need hiding places. I've designed something to strike the balance. Previously my driftwood was arch-shaped. Almost all of the shrimps hid inside the inner roof o...

Hi Mustafa, Oh, now I see ! :D I didn't know plastic bags can be breathable. It sounds like Gortex. And what I've seen here is hundreds of small fish in a big plastic bag, nothing inside apart from water. You give them Java Moss when they're in a bag for transportation, and you won't make them overc...

Hi Mustafa, Yes yes, this website is doing an excellent job indeed and everybody can share and discuss about shrimps here. Well, having a book can let me read wherever I'm. And I love books. Hi Edinjapan, I saw a Japanese magazine last Sunday here in the fish street in Hong Kong. The cover shows fre...

Addition : I hope to see photos in the book because we speak different languages from every cornerl around the world. I believe photos can help a lot in identifying different species so that we can be sure what we're talking about. What's more, I'm sure that makes the book look much more attractive....

Totally agree - yes, thanks Professor Mustafa ! I really wish to see in the near furture a guidebook on shrimps by Mustafa in bookshops. I do hope that the book will contain colored photos, at least one species gets one photo.

Hi Mustafa, I know it's impossible for me to buy shrimp from you coz I'm in Hong Kong, too far away. But I'm really curious to know how you pack your shrimps (if it's not a commercial secret). Some shop keepers told me that death was unavoidable during shipping. I felt sorry to hear that. I've seen ...
