Yep they seem to be Neocaridina sp. "blue"... they are nice looking shrimp.

Could have been an ammonia spike... and no you can't use a protein skimmer for freshwater... well you could but it wouldn't do much. :lol:

Sounds good to me too... My CRS are pretty hardy so i think you will be fine... You should invest in some high quality shrimp. It will pay off in the long run if you sell any fry. :mrgreen:

Nope, the color does not matter as long as the shrimp are fine. If you don't like It it can be removed from water changes. Seachem Purigen works well too.

Yea I still feed my shrimps even I there is a molt. It can't hurt, just some extra food.
