I was wondering if Red Cherry shrimp will do well in my tap water. My tap water is very hard and has a pH of 8. The local fish store can order them for me so would they do well in my water? Also will they breed in this type of water?

Any help you could offer me would be appreciated.

A couple of times a week I treat the tank with a scoop of moina. The supposed algea eating shrimp and the bamboos drop what they are doing and empty the tank of these guys in minutes. Well I just set it up 4 weeks ago. The 1 gallon has no heater or filter, I might add asponge filter later on. For water changes I do 4 cups every week and thats about it I don't really need to do much because the shrimp have a very little bioload on the tank. I just throw in 1 shrimp pellet in there...

I agree they are really cool shrimp. I have two in my 1 gallon with a snail and plant. Mine swim upsidedown underneath the waters surface.

Any one ever own a Bamboo shrimp? My lfs has 5 or 6. I have a few questions:
1.) Are they peaceful or aggressive?
2.) What temp do they nedd to be at?
3.) How big do they get?
4.) what size tank do you need?
