Re: Sinking Shrimp - Not Sure What Is Happening!

Are you saying out of the 20 shrimp 12 have already died? Or are you predicting that you will lose your shrimp? Do you have pictures? Videos? It's not clear what you mean by "sink"...do they just swim and then sink to the ground and lie on their backs or sides or do they just sit there still on thei...

Re: Mossball and macroalgae help

Hmmm....I wouldn't worry much about the mossball. They're almost impossible to kill. Even if they don't multiply they just sit there and wait for better conditions before suddenly producing a bunch of "baby" mossballs. As for the macroalgae...it seems like somehow the conditions became more suitable...

Re: Q about Food

My small tanks just get a flake or two of normal fish flake food every few weeks or months depending on algae growth. As long as you have quality fish food it doesn't really matter what brand you feed them.

Re: Beginner - quick questions

Is there an ideal amount of crushed coral that I should use for 5 shrimp? What's the ideal PH level? And Do I replenish it every so often? This is so interesting and I'm so excited to rehome them even though I know it'll probably take me a month to set it up. The great thing about these shrimp is t...

Re: WHAT IS THIS GROWING ON MY SEA FAN?

Looks like twisted up hair algae. Is it still there? And if so, can you take a more close up pic? Hair algae is something that I usually tell people to get rid of.

Or air bubbles got trapped under the water as the water was poured in.

Re: Nano Tanks

It's hard to maintain super tiny tanks over the long term. That's why you won't see many of them. My smallest "tank" is a 1/2 gallon mason jar. And the shrimp in there are reproducing too.

Re: ...Are my shrimp happy?

Can you upload a small video to youtube or similar site? Without seeing the creatures move it's hard or impossible to say what they may be. Also, I'd take out the java fern immediately...and also the bamboo skewer things. Anything organic like that has the potential to pollute the water too much...a...

Re: YELLOW Supershrimp!!!

Do you still see a yellow shrimp? Many shrimp can appear yellow or orange and then turn red or pale...only "real" yellow/orange shrimp remain yellow/orange all the time and never turn red.

Re: Population density in the wild

BTW remember supershrimp does NOT live in anchialine pools, they only visit them. Their true habitat is the porous lava belt circling each island, they go outside mostly to feed on certain algae and maybe take some sunlight for vitamins. That's not quite right...they do live in the pools and their ...

Re: Spouse wants office shrimp too - how best to make it a surprise?

Yeah, I think that's the end of Photobucket. Worst mistake they made in their history as a company. I usually recommend uploading pics directly to the forum so things like what Photobucket pulled on its users don't affect the visibility of the pics.
