Nice work, Wijnands, especially considering you're pushing the ISO to 1600! :D

Hi Luscombe, it is customary for people who download and post images to have already used some type of image manipulating software to both reduce it to an easily viewable size, for example, say 800 wide x 600 high AND to have reduced the file size itself. Otherwise, people would have trouble seeing ...

n00dl3, I'm not much of a gearhead ... but what about the Micro-Nikkor 105mm? I can get close enough to get full frame of adult dwarf shrimp (like the RCS). Also, from what I understand, you can use Kenko extension tubes on the lens for an even more macro shot, like if you want to get a baby shrimp ...

Hi John - sorry for such a late reply - I was hoping to be further along on my Bumblebee progress, but hit some speed bumps along the way. So ... I'll just update where I'm at right now. It was kind of you to ask, thanks :) . Wow, was it all the way back in April that I last posted here? Gee how tim...

ShrimpFan, sorry about the poor pic, but does it look anything like this? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/ZeroCatgravity/ZMisco%20Shrimp/45RCS599400W.jpg Last year, when I was rearing a lot of RCS babies, three of them developed this white on their tail. It almost seemed as if the meat of the...

Thanks for the kind comments, Badflash and Puffer John :) . Here are a few photo's of my best colored Females. They are in a 125gal. They will have alot of space to multiply. They look great, John! Wow, a 125gal tank, huh? That would be like having more water than air space at my place  . I can...

Hi John, this is really nice, seeing your well-colored RCS along with the others who have shared. :) It's also interesting hearing ideas about certain commonalities in what's been observed about Cherries. I'd like to share some ideas and pictures too. My males have red on them, too. It's interesting...

Hey Frugalfish, keep up the good work! Not too many people here have Bee shrimp; it's nice to have them documented. Incidentally, Tahitian Moon sand is one of my favorite substrates - it's not too fine, so there's less compacting. Texture is really nice. I have also noticed that a few of the baby sh...

As to your above question, someone else may better be able to answer it, but I think Mustafa said if your city adds things like sodium hydroxide, it can affect the pH. Milalic, hope you won't mind my answering some of your other questions here, as it might be helpful for anyone else wanting to go th...

Thanks for everything GB, including the pics and update. :) Mustafa, you're quite welcome; however, all the thanks goes to YOU; if not for your instructions, I wouldn't be enjoying my present crew of shrimplets. Rather, I'd be watching them dying off one by one. Instead, I'm finding more :D . Why, ...

I suppose he could get all worn out if all the females molted and then became "available" on the same day :smt042 .

Lol, 1 male most likely can easily handle 7 females. The only thing is, if that one male turns out not to be a male OR if he dies, then it becomes a no-go  .

Thanks Frugalfish :) . This sounds good...how low did you went in PH? I see it took you 9 days. I am a little worried because I am in texas. I have been able to breed the bumble bee and my CRS in hard water with ph at 7.4-7.5 without any visible problems. Having maybe a lower PH might help, but I am...
