1st Berried Female!
I was so happy to see my first berried female, she has like 10-15 eggs in her clutch. I cant wait to see them develop and hatch. This was right after my water levels finally stabilized. Salinity is 1.010, temp avg 76f. After observing her for a while, i noticed it seems she prefers dark hiding place...

Re: Help getting started
I also had calcium dust at the beginning, it went away after a few water changes, (this is why its important to rinse the substrate) it takes longer to clear up/settle since its brackish water as compared to freshwater. i did a lot of water changes in the beginning to clear things up, then once clea...

Re: Help getting started
Fine grain sand is fine, why would it be bad? My opaes love picking up grains of sand and looking for goodies on it. They even swim around with it.

Re: Help getting started
Ive seen some people use a base layer of white live aragonite and a top layer of inert black sand. Thats always an option. My tank has black sand and crushed coral.

Hairlike substance growing on rocks
Ive noticed short strands of clear hairlike things growing on my coral rock, could this be some kind of hair algae? Does anyone know what this may be? Or does anyone have it growing in their tanks too?

The shrimps only lived for about 2 years :( I have started keeping fresh water shrimps and stumbled across these brackish shrimp which reminded me of the ones in my biosphere and low and behold ...
