Re: Some up close and personal pics!
Congrats! Looks like your shrimp won't stop reproducing. :) It seems to me the snails won’t stop reproducing at home! Lol. I’m pretty sure I have around 25 snails from the initial 10. A lot of the babies have grown to a noticeable size and there’s quite a few new babies now. My question is there su...

Re: Berried Shrimp
Like varanus said you should be fine. You can feed them a small amount every once in a while if you’d like. They’re always picking at microorganisms that you can’t see. Get a magnifying glass and look at your tank. You might see tiny specs of algae.

Any substrate should do. I am using the natgeo one myself. The tiny tiny black pebbles/sand. I have no issues.

Re: Questions for the Experts!
Pretty much what everybody said. I have a one gallon at work with 10 initially. I have one mature female that reproduced and now I have 10 little ones. I have a 3 gallon one at home with 21 initially. I have 2 mothers who reproduced and I have 17 new babies and 13 juviniles. So hope that gives you a...

Re: Flipper's Shrimp Journal
I’m gonna answer your question from your other thread in here. Congrats on the berried shrimp! First time mothers to be are learning how to carry the eggs. Don’t get discouraged if they drop before hatching. I had a few who dropped all their eggs and some that carried like 10 eggs and others who car...

My work tank has about 10 larvae developing into little juveniles. Here’s an upclose of one.

Re: New tank started 11-17-2017 after broken ecosphere.
If you have a decent amount of females you can tell when they’re mating. Basically all the males are frantic while the females are chilling and eating. The males are looking for that one female. Lol

Re: Hello Im New and would love your advice :)
Just wait. Don’t expect algae to be visible right away. It takes time to form and clump together. My tank is 7 months old and I barely have specs on the walls. They’re always feeding and you can’t see it. Most important thing is to let your tank cycle. If you mess with the parameters you’ll make thi...

Re: Floating Molts & Lots of Green Algae
The little line string can be hair algae. Very hard to see. Kinda like a spider web string. You can remove that with a tweezer or clean chopstick or something like that. This is a lot of algae for your shrimps. Tons of food. I’d invest in more shrimps and a pack of snails. Your tank can hold a lot m...

Yeah. If one of them dies, they’ll clean it up. Sad to hear about your other shrimp

Dunno about the soap issue. I wouldn’t use a sauce container as a tank to begin with. Lol. For my 1 gal I used an old beta fish tank that was given to me. Just cleaned that out with vinegar to get rid of the hard water spots and then rinsed it out with water and then DI water

Re: Some up close and personal pics!
Got 2 more berried females in my tank at home. Here’s a pic of one of them. The larvae turned into juveniles but I can’t account for all 13 of them. Only see like 2. Hopefully they’re hiding away somewhere. The tank at work hatched this past week as well. There’s 10 larvae in that one. Doubled the p...
