Re: Eco Refugees / New Tank

I like the tank, especially the substrate. Tha plants are plastic I suppose?
Will you add more opae or just the two of them?

Can't help with the moss ball issue though :).

Re: Help a newbie? Much appreciated.....

I had the same issue. I set up my tank with 20L more or less RO/sea water mixture, and I added 2 L of water of an opae tank. I also added a rock from an opae tank with already some algae on it. Opae where added immediately (I knew cycling was important but I had no choice). Two weeks later they all ...

Re: The 3 survivors of the shattered ecosphere

My advise is keep reading this forum;-). A lot of usefull information is given! As your tank is not cycled i would think it's best to add some macroalgae, but I'll let the experts confirm this and give you more advise..

Re: My Ecospherians are 21

The ecosphere sits next to my 12-gallon tank that is well-populated so their buddies are close by. I figure when there's only 1 left, I'll put it in the community tank. I get it that you will put him in the community tank from the moment there is only one left, but it would be interesting to see ho...

They normally do not reproduce in winter? Because of temperature? What is your temperature now?

Re: New Belgian opae ula owner!

The legs of my seastar are coloring yellow and falling apart. Still ok to keep it in the tank or not?

It's been in the water for a few days, shrilps are still ok. The seastar was in my closet for several years so it was dry.. found it on a beach some years ago :)

Re: New Belgian opae ula owner!

Yes I did! I've been talking for days to someone i've met on a forum. We've been together to a store to buy everything and he gave me some of his stones and water from his tank (with the right bacteria and algae) and there were also some shrimps in there!😁
