It probaly depends on a number of factors such as food, age, temp and even the photo period.

I've seen Neocaridina shrimp hanging from floating plants (mostly duckweed) and feeding at the surface quite often. It doesn't seem surprising than Amano's would do the same thing. I have no idea.

They are not albino as they have black eyes.
What are the most common white cray morfs?
