Those are very beautiful and crisp shots! Can I ask what type of camera and size macro lens you are using? I've been thinking of getting a macro lens for my Cannon but will have to put it on my Christmas wish list.

Very nice steady shots!

Re: How much zeolite in the filter? How much is safe?

Hi Janssen, Here is a link to a nice article on the cycle process of a tank: http://www.fishaholics.org/articles.php?ArtId=12 It took me about 6-8 weeks to properly cycle my 50g uniquarium. A safe cycle involves no fish and no inverts - it takes longer but better than to expose anything to the ammon...

Re: CO2 Tablets, are they safe for shrimp tanks?

Hi Janssen, Why are you using CO2 tablets in your shrimp tank? Can I assume you want these for your plants? Are your plants showing signs of poor CO2? Also, what kind of shrimp are in your tank? To be honest, with the sensitive bodies of shrimp, I would not risk this, but perhaps others may have bet...

I've seen some aquarists put fruint in their tank, like seedless watermelon and oranges.

Romaine lettuce or spinach (have to anchor these to the bottom).

Never tried it myself, but just an observation. Could give it a try, but remember: Everything in moderation.

Have fun experimenting :)

They'll also eat zucchini too btw.

I've already posted a reply on your topic in the shrimp forum section.

I help my boss with a company tank and have witnessed a clown loach kill and eat a ghost shrimp. I think your main concern would be the electric blue crayfish. If he feels like it, he will attack and eat anything that will stimulate his preying instinct. I use to have one and placed a baby arrowana(...

Great info in this thread! I learned from my LFS that the best way to tell the difference between a ghost shrimp and an Amano shrimp is to net them out of the water. Ghost shrimp will "hop" back into the water. Amanos will "walk" back towards the water. Amanos will clean your fin...

Well HI everyone! :) Thanks Earthgoddess for the compliments :) I hope my plecos love it in there too! I'm actually waiting on receiving a new light fixture that will be more appropriate for the plants in there, but won't be too overpowering for the zebras. Thanks for all your input Mustafa! The pri...

Thanks badflash! Water flow shouldn't be a problem, zebra plecos love to have lots of flow because their natural habitat is in the rivers of Brazil. I've even debated on adding a power head in my tank but I've noticed that my fish are staying on one side of the tank right now, which would give me th...

Warm temp shrimp?

Hello, I would like to keep some shrimp with my zebra plecos and golden nugget pleco. The zebras are omnivorous and the golden nugget is a vegetarian. My tank has a lot of hiding places for the shrimp but my main problem (and I've already researched through the species page) is that my tank's temper...
