Most of the powerheads out there are waaay too powerful for a 10g tank, it will be swirling your tank like you flushed the toilet. Get the smallest you can find, something around 20-40 gph flowrate. Besides bristlenose plecos, are there any other plecos with similar compatibility? Most of them get too large to be considered but some stay small like L046 zebra and L135 Candy Stripe Plecos stay under 4 inches.

Post a picture of your shrimp. Pet stores incorrectly label aquatic life all the time. :( Rock shrimp are marine shrimp commonly used for making popcorn fried shrimp and soups.. cooking like you said.
