I also house dwarf crays with shrimp. I have Atyopsis moluccensis, snowballs, and Amanos in with my dwarf crays. The shrimp simply get out of the way of the crays during feeding time.

You know, I don't know about some of you, but I really love those little pooheads. They are so darn cute! Most of them are starting to get some color. I am going to put a load of hornwort into the tank to give them more places to hide. They grow so fast, too!

I like your first tank. I've seen you on another forum, and I see that you finished building the tank. Looks great! How are you keeping the shrimp for cross-breeding?

Oh, and a little off topic, where in Italy do you live? My family is from Genoa.

Because I have bought many RCS from various people over the past year-or-so, I can say that there are many various red colorations of the RCS. The pic Mustafa has is merely for reference. It's still not a red cherry shrimp. It's probably one of the many indian/southeast asian shrimp species. Unders...

hmm..does kind of look like a cherry shrimp now that you mention it. The red doesnt have any speckles, like the picture on the site, but it does have the same body shape. Thanks! Because I have bought many RCS from various people over the past year-or-so, I can say that there are many various red c...

I have checked the water straight from the tap, and I got a trace of ammonia. Someone on another forum suggested that that sometimes means there are chlorimines in the water. I have been using Prime with every water change for over a year and have been doing religious weekly water changes since--wel...

I had performed a water change 2 days before the "occurence". I age my water for one week with Prime, and do religious weekly water changes. I do 50% water changes. I did get some new plants for the tank the day before the "occurence". I didn't clean the plants--I never do. The p...

Well, I finally did a water test on the tank, and my nitrates were so high that I am embarrased to even post them. So, this morning, I had just made myself a nice hot cup of coffee. I walked past my one remaining tank, and I noticed one of my male Sinapore shrimp was doing back-flips into one of the...

I found something unpleasing this morning when I turned on the tank light. A dead cray. :( I haven't had a chance to check the water parameters, but besides that, there are no predators besides 2 other crays in the tank. I'll try to come back with a water reading.

Also sounds like there wasn't enough flow in the tank with just a sponge filter. My colony of 14 don't like it when I turn off the power head and the canister filter to do a water change to move plants around. They'll start to try to find a place to hide, swim all over the tank, and spaz out. Maybe ...

There should be plenty of places for them to hide. They are in my 30 gallon long HEAVILY planted tank with my Singapore, snowball, and amano shrimp tank with auratus pencilfish. So about the feeding thing, I was never quite sure what to feed the adults. What do they eat? I feed the shrimp a meaty an...

Hey everyone! I have great news! This past Saturday I removed all the plants and driftwood out of the tank, and although I discovered that I am down from 5 crays to 3, I found a female with a tail full of larvae! What should I expect from here on out with the female and the larvae? HOw do I care for...

I rarely see mine any more once they settled in and found a hole. I may see one out in front of the tank picking at food.
