I live in a very cold part of Canada where it gets down to -44 at night. I like to keep everything stable :)

Yup I have seen that. I just thought that they were just trying to find a way out of the tank.

I am positive I have males (if the males are smaller and a lot more clear). I have about 7 or 8 females and about the same males.

I will try the 25% WC and see if that helps.

Cherry Shrimp dropping eggs

I have noticed over the past few weeks that whenever the female cherry shrimp start to carry the eggs, they drop them within a few days. I do 15% water change on a 10g once a week, the temp is about 78 and there are no other inhabitants other than nerite snails. I do not fertilize and I do not over ...

Had my water tested for copper.... none. Thought my water lines were leeching copper into the water, and nope, all good.

It was a proper cycle. I must have stated that wrong. It was set up for about a month with fish, and I did a fishless cycle with ammonia before hand, checking on ammonia every day till it was zero. I have done this several times. The tank had neons in it before I put the shrimp in, but moved them to...

The tank has been set up for about a month before I received the shrimp. The tank was new from the store, rinsed out well before use. I know that I cannot blame this on medication from a previous use. I had the tank cycled with neons before that and they did great, all active and swimming. I notice ...

I just did a 60% water change with zero additives other than dechlorinator. If I still have deaths after this.... what does everyone suggest?

I got them from a breeder in Alberta Canada (next province to me).

As for the "dead" shrimp, they are white or colorless, not clear.

The filter was set up in a different tank for about 6 months prior to me moving it to a newer tank. I had also put 50% of the water from the old tank in the new tank and moved the few shrimp I had in there to the new tank. Those originals are still alive and well.

Amonia, nitrates, nitrites, are all zero. I was feeding them every other day and made sure that no extra food was left over to contaminate the water.

Help I lost all my shrimp!

Ok so I had about 30 shrimp in a 10g fully cycled tank at about 76F. Its bare bottom with some floating and some potted plants. I recently just noticed each day that I lost about 3 or 4 shrimp till my entire stock was gone. This is a new aquarium that has never been used for quarantine or a sick bay...
