Red Cherry sex ID please :-)
Hi all :) , I would like you to confirm something for me, please. I am 99% sure that the pale shrimp on photo 1 and 2 is a male Red Cherry. What do you think? I am asking because just few weeks ago I thought that I have 5 males (they where small and pale) Now out of 9 shrimps 8 has white saddles and...

I like the fully framed tank. Haven't seen one like that in quite a while. Hi YuccaPatrol, here in Sweden it is very common for people to make this kind of DIY aquarium. They are very cheep. This 11 gallons cost me 15 euros approx 20$. My plan is to go more into shrimp and crayfish breeding. I will...

11 gallon Red Cherry tank, UPDATE
Hi all, finally my RCS planted tank is born :P and after the cycle was finished I introduced my first 10 RCS and about 10 Malaysian Trumpet Snails. pH is 7.8, KH 5, temperature 26'C. Shrimps are between 1 and 1.5cm long (very young). I am not sure can they breed while they are still small??? They ar...

...I cannot have a very good looking tank if i want to have shrimp...its right? bye!!1 Of course you can have a nicely aquascaped tank and shrimp in it. The fertilisation is necessary (IMO) only if you grow too many fast growing plants. Low light low tech planted tanks do not necessary need CO2 and...

Procambarus spp. Marble UPDATE :-)
Is it possible that this crayfish is the Cambarellus spec. "jaripo" shown in here http://www.wirbellose.de/arten.cgi?action=show&artNo=098 , it looks like the one in the first photo, but not the second. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid210/pfe837286426b2c7dfccd3da18ed18e41/ee01...

:D This is starting to be interesting :D , First to answer badflash; Sorry you took offence. None was intended. Here are the plain facts though. Use ferts and over time the shrimp will die. You need to chose between what you think your plants need, and what experience shows happens to shrimp when yo...

Dusko Think about this. Where do wild plant get their ferts? In nature it is a natural balance between the animals and plants. I use dayligh fluorescent bulbs on about 12 hours a day. That puts 4 40 watt bulbs over as much of the aquarium as will go over the tank. If you want to keep shrimp for a l...

Thanks for comments :D , I am happy if my Aquarium Poetry can help you. As I stated in another thread, there are so many old sites that desperately need UPDATE because like I use to, lots of others follow those old methods that don't really work. The same is with keeping algae under the control and ...

Mustafa wrote; This article was written in 1999 and it shows that people had no idea about shrimp back then (and many years after that). It's best to ignore this article. I agree :D! But what people like us should do is make our new progress available in written and illustrated form (like this web-...

Heather Canderlaria method...yeah  it didn't work for me and my shrimps. At the moment I am busy but as soon as I can will go to get a 10 gal for breeding Amanos the way Mike Noren did have done it. Of course I will write down my progress and illustrate it  Thanks for comments, it is a pl...

You should stop using it. Your plants don't need it. Light and shrimp waste are all I use and my plants are green and lush. Plant ferts build up to toxic levels over time. Eventually the shrimp will start to die and you won't be able to figure out why. Hi badflash, since I am very much into planted...
