Re: shrimp without legs!!

Get rid of the filter and consider a %100 water change. Why do you have your colony open to the air?

Re: New SuperShrimp Fan!

Absolutely. I can't really tell you the temperature but I can explain that I keep my bedroom hot. I live in Saint Louis Missouri and I get cold here. In addition to the furnace, I keep a space heather in my bedroom. I like high temperatures, mid 70's and higher. Nanosphere 9 also receives a few hour...

Re: Discovered A New Brackish Water Plant!

Jason, how is your algae doing? Is it still growing? Mustafa, do you have this available? I want it. It has form and I am willing to risk the aquascape that I had envisioned to have it. I assume that it would suck up the nutrients and out compete the extensive Marimo that I have. What further experi...

Re: Nanosphere 9

I had not seen Miss Green Eggs for a while and then I saw her a couple of days ago. She looked like she may have had less eggs. I saw a pale shrimp today with a single egg. I think Miss Green Eggs has lost her clutch. :/

You can see photos in Nanosphere 9.

Re: Plants and algae compatible with Opae Ula

The marimo that I have had been just fine for over 2 months now. It does, unfortunately, have hair algae growing out of it but it is certainly not decaying. I was sold marimo that was already in salty water but the salinity was not disclosed. I have half strength ocean salinity.

Re: Can Amano shrimp be kept with Opae Ula?

I want to thank you both very much for your responses! However, I had already introduced a single inch to inch and a quarter male Amano shrimp in the sphere. I have been carefully observing since then. They seem to be getting along together but I can't help to feel uncomfortable about it being in th...

Re: White and red colour change

The scrimpies I have change colors all the time. Their behaviors and colors change throughout the day. They live next to my bed. It is very quiet and there is nobody around them but me. I do take note on their colors and behaviors but I don't see what the colors and activities are about. I don't str...

Re: First Berried Female!!!

:smt038 Hurray! :-D It is very exciting! Actually, do not do anything at all. Resist any urges you have to help. They will do everything on their own. I was worked up about it too but everything turned out perfectly. No, they do not eat the young. And they do not need to be fed anything either. Enjoy!

Re: Feeding the shrimp

I say that you can feed as often as you like as long as you are making absolutely certain that you are not polluting the water with left over food. I recently posted about how I feed them in Nanosphere 9. Give it a look. I basically power feed them to induce reproduction. They spend more time with f...
