I noticed that sometimes my shrimp arch their backs. Why is this?

That's not an opae' ula they do live in the same environments but they are usually a little bigger and more dominant than the Opae.Rob in Puyallup wrote:Note the big claws. Still wondering if pincer size is a form of sexual dimorphism.

Actually, I think one reason that you cannot see the dark spot on some is because they have a thicker exoskeleton

I'm pretty sure this is just the internal organs of the shrimp but how can I tell when there are eggs develolping in the ovaries of the female shrimp?

The problem with nerites in Supershrimp tanks is that the nerites are *too efficient* at eating algae. They eat pretty much all the algae on every surface in the tank. Given the fact that Supershrimp tanks are fed very rarely, there may not be all that much food to go around..and without algae, nut...

Wow! That is awesome. Just out of curiosity when you say the blue eggs are developing in the ovaries is it possible to tell when eggs are developing in red Opae' Ula?

There is a ton of cool coral out there. Also, the shrimp do prefer the dark lava rock because they feel safer because they blend into it.
