Re: Malawa shrimp with white eggs

I havent had anything like that happen with my Malawa shrimp. Thus far everyone's eggs have been black....

Im curious though, when you witnessed the unusual colored eggs, were all the eggs the shrimp was carrying this color or just a handful?

Re: Gammarus

Thanks for the response Mustafa, as always your experience and expertise is valuable. Theres a lot of organic material in the setup I have right now....so I imagine they are going to become an issue with the shrimp. *Grumbles* Anyone have any ideas of an organism I can add to the tank that would fee...

Re: Gammarus

Mustafa you mention that once the Gammarus reach huge populations that they "harass the shrimp to no end"...From your experience would you say they harass them to a point that its seriously detrimental to the shrimp..... Will the shrimp be able to continue breeding successfully? And will t...

Re: Interesting shrimp

Let's just make sure that we don't always chase the latest and newest shrimp on the market. Most "old" shrimp species are not really established in the hobby yet as there aren't enough breeding colonies in captivity. That includes the bumblebees, green shrimp, tiger shrimp, pretty much al...

Re: Interesting shrimp

No info on them anywhere, but I have one that also came with what's currently called "cardinal shrimp" (unfortunately, the cardinals were in bad shape and died off one by one within a few days). It had eggs, which hatched, and I have been spotting a few young for about 3-4 days now. Wait ...

I use a Whisper Power Filter which agititates the water a bit....I had not really thought of using an air stone....because I just hate those things...they look so unnatural.... :? ....But if its for the life of the shrimp I could try it.....

I used to use Oak leaves but I eventually stopped because I had not noticed any remarkable difference in the tank without them....
I suppose I could start soaking some for use in this tank.....
