Re: Simply try out another tank

Again a female molted and the mating ritual dance never stop today. During their busy moment I spotted another berried. How can I tell? She is the only one with the largest egg sack, a she is very fast, is so hard to get a pic of her. Afew of her eggs dragging the bottom while she moves around. That...

Re: First shrimp desk jar at work

That's the tit and bits fell off from Marimo. I don't know about Marino in brackish tank however I did kept them before in freshwater tank. Their tit and bits tend to fell off often all over the tank, a small tiny strain if it's single string will just fly and stuck everywhere in the tank and it sta...

Re: Simply try out another tank

They prefer noon to get busy these 2 weeks  Today is the 3rd time I witness them doing the mating ritual dance. I spotted another female berried, slightly smaller female than the 1st one..

Re: My opae berried, she dropped? Or....what's this?

I want to put them in the big tank. The babies are so tiny so I decided to just fill up their small jar full, covered it and slowly land the whole jar inside the big tank bottom. I lifted the cover and the babies just swam out themselves. Look at the image I attached, I spotted 1 of them latching on...

SuperProofer, looks like your Trooper is a miracle given to you by Santa :smt005 . I like how you described his belly, "Santa Beard" :-D . Congrats to you, everything seemed smooth so far. Looking forward for more good news from you in future.

Re: Simply try out another tank

Update: Seemed that most of my opae shrimps follow a fix schedule. They are at their busiest scavenging between 5-7pm and during sunrise 7-8am. As I clean outside yesterday, I saw 1 female with rounder belly/huge swimmeret. She kept them loosely aererate, maybe she just sheded off her skin. There we...

Re: My opae berried, she dropped? Or....what's this?

I mentioned in another topic of mine , I have an isolated berried shrimp in a small jar, partial of her eggs were released, the rest were either rot/unfertilised/spoiled whatever you call it and it stuck with her. She decided to shed skin to shoved them off. I used tweezer to pick her skin and swive...

Re: Algae buildup on tank glass

mike.d is right. In sight they may seem to over populate but soon they will shrink. The choice is quite tough seing everyone want to keep their gravel and glass clean but only can choose between the 2. It's either clean glass or clean under gravel. Nerite more on glass and above the gravel. Mustafa ...

Re: Berried shrimp?

Pic.blurry but pic.1 & 3 looks like eggs aka ovary. She has to go through few times of shedding skin, then her pleopods/swimmerets area becomes wider enough for her to carry the eggs. After the mating , eggs from her ovary will slowly descend down to her swimmerets internally. Here's the anatomy...

Re: Keeping old ecosystem as back up?

No one wants to responsible if anything goes wrong when one do not follow the basic rules in keeping supershrimp. I'm that 'one' person that don't follow the basic lol :P. In my 'only' one year experience with supershrimp, i can only assume by keep staring at the supershrimp after you put it in the ...

Re: Simply try out another tank

My trial tank fail. Not that kinda break down fail but more like I Do Not Have The Patience to wait for the cultured algae consumed by opae. If I didn't see something in my small tank I wouldn't even bother to change the whole set up. The thing was I read some topic on this thread and found the same...
