I hope this gets around.
I can't believe Kordon is the only one with breathable bags. They're great!
Though I do assume the average aquarium hobbyist doesn't use them a lot themselves (I don't use them a LOT, but they're the only bags that I do or would use).

Im gonna have to take a closer look at that new article.
I've suffered the die-offs, and still don't know what may have happened. Was thinking it might have been temperature related, but am probbaly way off.

All Dudes??? Always a downer in life! :-D You know, I guess because we usually keep them in good numbers... but I haven't seen Neocaridina/Caridina carry unfertilized eggs. Not sure if they do, myself. Actually I've got 2 female green shrimp, no males, and they do not (or haven't yet) extrude eggs. ...

Oh wow, I don't have any experience with the species.
But those are beautiful. Of course, your photography ALWAYS makes things look very vivid. But gold and black is always a winning combo! :-)

GB, your tanks look nice and clean.
What kind of filters do you have hooked up? I usually have the overhanging power filter.

Hi, It sounds like you're doing well. If there is an area in the tank he seems to prefer, it may mean there's a good current there to catch fine food particles in (or course, make sure there is a decent current in the tank). If there is nothing there, move a rock or something around there for him to...

Hey, I just happened to make contact with a hobbyist online who said he had A. gabonensis females with eggs. He sent pictures (none with eggs though) and I'm asking him if he has more pics and if I can post them online. My own gabbies need to grow bigger, but his pictures give me a little more hope ...

Hey, what does he put in the bags (if anything) for the shrimp to hold onto during shipping? I have never shipped shrimp, but if I ever do I'd like to have good ideas of what to put in the bag with the shrimp. I'd kind of prefer not to use java moss or other live plants if there are good alternatives.

I believe just about all shrimp would prefer to have available hiding places. Neither of those two species in your tank necessarily need caves though. I wouldn't be surprised if the japonicas are a big reason why the cherries don't hang around down there though. They're MUCH stronger and more aggres...

Good stuff. The locals around the Caribean don't call that macrobrachium anything? There are sure a lot of medium sized macrobrachium shrimp with the one big claw on males. Makes me want to go catch some local ones (M. grandimanus) to keep. Unfortunately I don't really have the space to set up a new...

My optimistically benign suggestion would be that they're simply not fertilized. Do you know how many males you have with them?
By the way, what kind of shrimp?

Yes, you might as well start with the "Shrimp Varieties" and "Articles" links at the top of the page there. Those will definitely address your questions. Search the message board for any further specifics using this page: http://www.petshrimp.com/discussions/search.php And if you...

Hey, I honestly don't even own test kits (I'm not saying that you shouldn't). If I did, I'd probably go with the dip strips which to me, would be "good enough." I wouldn't want to spend much money on that kind of stuff. Maybe I'd try these. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_displa...
