Re: Malawa Shrimp - Photo Gallery and Blog
Text only update: Tonight I transfered about 30 fresh Malawa juveniles into three different tanks I have running now, all with great filtration. I am going for redundancy with this tactic, and also will be watching how the shrimp respond to slightly different environments. Meanwhile, two more female...

Re: Malawa Shrimp - Photo Gallery and Blog
One of my Malawas is consistently a bright orange... I wonder if this is just environment or if it could be selectively bred. Another fun photo below. High res of both available at links (useful to see patterns) http://www.imageseek.com/sven/gallery/malawa/malawa_orange_2769?full=1 http://www.images...

Re: Infopimp's Gallery
You really need to click the high-res link to appreciate this... here are some of the 40+ CRS shrimplets we've welcomed to our tanks over the past few weeks.

Re: Infopimp's Gallery
I've tried a lot of exotic foods, but haven't seen anything come even close to how my shrimps respond to a little blanched cucumber, thinly sliced, served on a bed of gravel.

Mustafa, please remove these links if they are against board policy. There are three articles on "why not to hybridize shrimp" found here: http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/blog/archives/182 http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/blog/archives/184 http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/blog/archives/186 I thought ...

Re: Malawa Shrimp - Photo Gallery and Blog
This Malawa is very deep amber in color - I backlit her a bit to get these photos with a blue LED lamp. Malawas seem far less shy of lights than the CRS in the tank, who seem to flee when the light comes their way.

I'm starting to really understand more and more why hybrids are a pain... its already confusing enough as it is.
Thanks Mustafa.
