I got my Opae Ula in a couple days ago and I am absolutely loving them. They are such amazing creatures!! I recieved about 27 of them and they are doing real well. Now here is my question. Good point badflash. I have heard so many people say this but it never clicked. I always disregard it becasue I am thinking in my head I have plenty of bacteria. it didnt dawn on me that it was FW bacteria. I am going to the LFS today and will ask to get some grave. Thanks!

I just realied something. I have been squeezing the filter out of a fresh water aquarium to seed the filer in the brakish water aquarium. I guess the bacteria is just dying since the new tank has salt in it. Is my theory right? If so I will just wait it out... The amonia is really getting high so it...

I like the snails idea. only thing is this is a brackish water tank. I don't think regular snails will like the water and it will kill them. Besides I have bought snails about 5 times and They never last in my tanks... always curling up and dying.

yea just soak the leaves for a week and then put it in the rcs tank. It worked for me.

it is truely apples and oranges. in the woods nothing is eatting the leaves, but in the tanks bacteria is much more and the feast on the leaves thus making them multiply, thats where the shrimp come in and eath them. Both are correct just different stories. My leaf has been in my tank for about 6 mo...

yes I will definately quit using the stuff. I will continue my search. Usually I am really good at finding things. but something as simple as ammonia that cost under 1.00 is so hard to find. Pretty sad

yea I try really hard to keep them happy. and all this happened in one month. all of the sudden about 800 babies!! I was shocked. right after I took this picture of them they turned and looked to the left at the filter and was all perfectly alligned and and it seemed like they were (worshiping it)!!...

I shook it does foam up. The only problem is I have searched grocerie stores and No one has pure ammonia. Walmart was the closest with ingredients of ammonia, and surfactant. So I went ahead and bought it. It was 1.00 for a Liter. If anyone has any suggestions on where to buy ammonia please let me k...
