Mustafa, I was wondering what your policy is regarding other people linking your pages in their auction ads? I would think they should AT LEAST write to you to get your permission.
I, for one, would be FUMED at people (mis-)using my hard-learned info to make financial gain.

It's from India and that's it's stressed out coloration. If it stays like that any longer it will probably be gone. ohh, that is really too bad. Like JK, I also find that orange color very becoming :? So I probably would have done the same as you, and picked out those guys too. Please keep us updat...

green shrimp generation time
I got my first batch of Caridina cf. babaulti babies about 5 months ago. At this point, the young are still only half-grown so I figure their generation time to be 10-12 months? I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar experience, or am I doing something horribly wrong to stunt their growth? I rem...

heh, good question. I leave it in, and usually cut another half-sponge from a brand new one to put in the empty space. So my community tank is basically my source of cycled filter media, and it's in a more-or-less perpetual state of sponge rotation :-D I never remove more than ~30% of the old filter...

heehee, Pirates of the Caribbean :-D Sounds like something childish I'd do. It's up to you, since it's a matter of personal taste, eh? ;-) The good news is that pirate ship will provide lots of nooks and crannies for shrimp to hide in and eat algae off of. Anyway, I have a few 5-gallons myself due t...

the easiest way to control snail populations is simply not to overfeed. For example, I hear people complain about Malaysian Trumpet Snails (MTS) overtaking their tank to the point that their substrate literally looks like it's moving. *shudder* I got about 5 adult MTS as hitchhikers in a bag of Flou...

unfortunately, 'free snails' are a reality of buying plants. Not just from stores, but also from online retailers and hobbyists. So I am now in the habit of dipping all my new plants in a potassium permanganate solution for 10-15 minutes. It not only kills snails, but also algae, germs, and most pat...

If it can kill my fish, plants and inverts, how safe is it really? that's exactly how I feel about my tap water. Ever since it killed several batches of shrimp, I have trained myself NOT to use tap water for cooking. I never drank it plain, anyway, because it tasted icky but now I don't want to ing...

I also recommend using a cooler. It will help retain a warmer temp than the air, and it blocks light and visual movement which can REALLY stress fish and shrimp when they're out of their element. If your tanks are glass and not acrylic, I would recommend to completely empty the tanks larger than 10 ...

these parasites are harmless, as war as we know, as they do not kill or harm the shrimp in any recognizable way but since they are classified as 'parasites' and not some sort of commensalistic relationship, that means they must have some negative effect on the host. At the very least, they are deri...

well, cherry shrimp (and all dwarf shrimp) do not drop their eggs unless something is wrong. They carry their eggs for weeks until they hatch. For RCS, that takes 3-4 weeks and the momma will hold those eggs under her tail for the entire time. If she 'aborts' those eggs before they hatch, that is no...
