Re: Simply try out another tank

Great shots! The third one is definitely a "fail", but the first one and probably even the second one were successful matings. The males don't need much time to deposit their sperm package right next to the females genital openings. A second or two is enough. :) Thank you Mustafa for resp...

Re: White Fuzz/Hair on rocks?!?

Thanks MrsT! Yeah it’s on every rock and coral. I did notice that it was a slight tint of green when looking at it with a magnifying glass. Hopefully it’s not harmful or doesn’t get out of control. You are welcome :-) . I don't think they are harmful. Good thing is you don't have to feed them, you ...

Re: White Fuzz/Hair on rocks?!?

Hi Nellyville41, Mine started to grow like that when I realized they were too much shrimps waste accumulation on that specific area. It sometimes spread to the glass like the picture shown here. No harm done so far, some says that opae or snail won't eat it but mine seemed to have gone, so I think i...

Re: Excessive bubbles in the aquarium

These shrimp are known to be tolerable and easy to take care of. Most importantly * When the tank is thriving, don't simply change anything to Your Liking. * You must be able to tolerate a dirty tank. If you feel must due to the massive algae blocking your view then scrap it off or introduce snails ...

Re: My Nano Tank Set Up Success Story

Congrats to you :smt006 I'm so happy to see another simple set up tank thriving. I started with a small Betta tank which I thought it's beautiful to enjoy it but then I decided to just rid of the idea of beautiful tank in my mind which 'favors' to my liking so, i just went ahead with an abandoned ta...

Thank you Arquisto, I wish I have more time for them but my schedule are tight :( , which is also one of the reason the tank is left outdoor with no maintenance.

Re: Simply try out another tank

My tank remains the same other than increasing small population of the young ones. I've been missing for awhile because I've been busy. The mating kept going sometimes 2 days in a roll sometimes once a week. Here are few shots within 5 minutes watching them mating. Sorry I'm abit pervy on this lmao :P

Re: too much algae?

I had that algae when I started mine but it's gone now. You can manually clean the algae, just scoop up using net. You can also clean the ornaments or rocks by rubbing it in a bucket of R.O water then place them back. Your tank is definitely ready for shrimp, I wonder why you are still waiting? You...

Re: New but did everything wrong

Hi! May I ask why you made a brackish set-up when I firmly believe dream blue shrimp are freshwater shrimps?? :smt017 I'm feeling strange too, dream blue/blue velvet, blue pearls/ blue jellies are all neocaridina fresh water shrimps. No matter how correct the salt mixture, they will die in brackish...

Re: Acclimating freshwater snails

I thought I read somewhere that nerites will breed in brackish. But not if the shrimp get to them first! Great video. That's encouraging. At least you won't have a lot of egg rings on your hardscape. :smt017 strange right? But incase they do hatch they unable to survive long, they need salt water t...

Re: Acclimating freshwater snails

Here it is. I caught one empty shell floating. I know they can't hatch in brackish, so someone must've ate them or the parents themselves consume it.
