Newjohn, Next time your female is holding set up a bare 10 gallon tank for her. Put lots of leaf litter in it. A sponge filter and some java moss or hornwort. Put her in and Wait till she drops the young and then pull her out and put her back in her original tank. Now you will be able to watch the b...

Your right Iceburg is nutritionally deficient. I do not use it as a staple. I use the collard greens for that they are packed with yummy goodness. I only use the iceburg when it starts to go bad in the fridge. Mostly for my peruvian snails. But I put a slice in each crayfish and shrimp tank. They li...

I like to feed my shrimp, snails and crayfish leftover fruits and vegetebles. Never tried cantelope though. They seem to eat apple, pear, collard greens, zuchinni, cucumber, green beans, iceburg lettuce and romaine lettuce. The main veggies I use are zuchinni and collard greens. The greens I freeze ...

I produce about 1,000 of these guys a year. I have been working to get the blue color for around 2 years. It started off as just a slight blue. The blue has just recently gotten a lot better. The last two hatches have been fabulous. About 75% blue. Varying from a light blue to a deeper blue. Maybe o...

It might just be the mega pixels. Mine has 3.3. How about you Mustafa what camera do you use for taking pictures of your shrimp and small crays. It will not be long before everyone that got these has eggs and small babies. The Cajun Blue are very prolific. They breed readily. And I do not notice ver...

New John, What kind of camera do you use. Any time I take pictures of these guys the pictures are cruddy. I have a sony cybershot DSC-S75. It takes great pictures of bigger crays and fish but not small shrimp or small crays. That first picture you posted is just awesome. I wish my pictures turned ou...

How's it going Paul. Good to see you working with something else besides catfish. I am also working with this crayfish. Mine looks like the second picture. My experience as far as raising as many babies with this species is to give them the biggest tank possible so they will have plenty of room as t...
