Hi Kross,

I'm interested in the Ninja shrimp too !

My Black shrimp and Malayan shrimp changed it's colour from black to brown.
Nothing as spectacular as the Ninja I suppose.

Could you give me the location to the fish store ? Or did you import them personally ?

What to do with scud ?

My shrimp tank are over-populated with scud. They are competing with baby shrimp for food. There are no fish in the tank execpt an oto. Without a natural predator, the scud population are out of control... :shock: Can anyone recommend a solution ? Does anyone know any fish out there that love to eat...

Does that mean like Cherries, they need hard water to thrive ?

Anyway, I have yet to see them turn blue. :-D
These shrimps are always black or dark brown.

The scuds in my tank reproduced very quickly.
Unfortunately, the guppy are not eating enough of them.

I can't tell if I the larvae are from the Yamato shrimp, tiger shrimp or the scud. :(

The picture in the article is excellent, but I don't have a microscope to tell which is which. :(

I'm wondering if pH plays an important part in the hatching. what is everyone pH ? My tank water pH=8. kH = 4 I have yet to see hatching. Can someone tell me how the larvae look like ? Black shrimp

My tank pH = 7.5 Does anyone know what is the suitable pH for breeding this shrimp ? The eggs are black and big. So larvae doesn't need brackish water. (Thanks Mustafa for this tips. :D :D) What's it scientific names ? Will it cross with Cherries or Green shrimp ? Strange... even my Malayian shrimp ...

Thanks Mustafa. I make a mistakes of putting freshwater gravel as a substrate. Strange but it actually raise my pH to 8 even without coral chip. In Singapore, many people use ADA soil. It drop the tank pH to 6.5 or below. Can I know what substrate are you using to maintain a low tank pH ? Especially...

You are right... I'm so sad as many have died. :( I will do a 50% water change immediately. As for hardness, are you referring to gH or kH ? My kH range from 4 - 5.
