underground vs. sponge filter.. which works better for you?
I have mostly been using side bio tank filters for fish and sponge filters with shrimp for about 7 years now but I am reading a lot of pro CRS breeders using underground filters with the plant soil. I usually have a bare tank to breed shrimp. I am setting up a tank for CRS and I know the importance ...

Re: Surfactant
well I have already put about 10 drops in to the tank already and it has started to cycle.. Too late :( but there is no shrimp or fish in it so my plan is to stop using the drops. I have since put a peice of salmon skin in there(somthing I had in the frezer) to continue the process and when the tank...

Re: Opae Ula / Halocaridina rubra / Hawaiian Reds (Amazing Pics
I hear it is illegal to collect and sell direct from nature now... and even if so you have to have a licence to export them. Thats why they are so hard to get. Sellers were probably depleating the little ponds to nothing. I have read a lot of people buy the habitats and break them open to start thei...

I even have the tank, though I've put off cycling it for saltwater because I don't know when I can aff...

Surfactant
Does anyone know if Surfactant is harmful to an aquarium. I am cycling an aquarium and I found some Ammonium Chloride but it has Surfactant in it also. I have done a lot of research on this but nothing is coming up.

Re: RCS Stressed?
I am suprised she even had any babies since the you have only had them a couple of weeks. 81 degrees F is kind of too hot . 76-78 should be more comfortable. If the tank is new Not established with micro food for the babies they are probably not getting enough to eat. This is only SOME of the proble...

I went to buy some rocks at the local Pet store this week and just finished setting up the Opae ula tank. It is running and looking good. I have done a lot of research but I still feel very unsure what is the correct way to make these shrimp happy.
