My cherries love squished baby red ramshorn snails. Really? I don't know if my cherries have ever gotten to try the delicacy that is escargot. I swear one of the female Ghosts has super shrimp senses because as soon as anything edible goes in the tank she starts doing mad laps to home in on it, may...

Snail shells

I have a self producing food source in the snails and my Ghosts practically go into a feeding frenzy when I squish one but I was wondering if the shells break down at all or if they get eaten in time.(like exoskeletons do)

And there is always fake plants. The LFS around here have a terrible selection and I haven't gone the extra mile to do an online order just for plants so about half the plants in my tank are fake but if you get some of the nicer ones it's hard to tell when its mixed together anyways.

By the time they're holding again I might have a new idea, but the floaty box just won't cut it I don't think. For now I'm going to let nature take its course and see how many more survive.

Unfortunatly the experiment was a faliure, althought not completely. The biggest problem I has with the tiny floater egg holder was even micro amounts of food spoiled the water too quickly. It wasn't until the second day they were in there that I thought to add the snails for cleanup and by then it ...

Thanks for posting all of your experiences and allowing me to make an informed choice. I have also seen the company's web site and took their work for face value. I also found their pictures and variety if items to be attractive. So I am greatful to view both sides before I make a decision on where...

Sure thing. I just need to snag the camera from my sister. I know there is a thread out there on this, but just to quickly doublecheck. I should turn off all of the lights in the room, except the aquarium lights, then get as close as possible and not use flash. Is that right? If you don't use the f...

Ghost experiment

Hi Everyone, I've read about other peoples experience with the ghost babies and I don't have much experience or all that home grown fun stuff like green water and rotifiers but I thought I'd take a swing at the whole larva baby game. What I did was put my big ghost into one of those floating fish ha...

Hydra infestation

Hi everyone, I seem to have an infestation in my tank. It's a 10 gallon with Cherries, Ghosts and an ADF and both the Cherries and the Ghosts are having babies. Yesterday we counted 8 baby cherries and saw a couple of ghost larva floating around too. My question is for the people who have actually b...

I had the pantyhose but it collected so much junk so quick I switched to a foam piece over my intake. I'd be worried about baby shrimp with the pantyhose... even if they don't get through it they might get stuck to it because there's more water flow then with a sponge.

The shrimp do all have saddles (so I guess that means there happy) - they have had them for since the first week I got them - they just havent had any eggs yet. I think it probably is the softness of the water which is stopping them producing eggs. All the saddles mean is that the eggs are in produ...
