Look at this pic though ...in it is a "seed shrimp"(an Ostracod) and a baby shrimp....which does yours look like?

Well congrats!.... Hopefully things continue to work out for you. It is so much less stressful(for the human) when you have a self perpetuating population(of shrimp/crays).

Personally I would start off with five and breed them up to a larger population...(youll need to feed them though obviously)

Get some Assassin Snails(they eat snails)...Or you could just wait after several months the population tends to become more stabilized and they are less noticeable....Snails are great...And I would say avoid feeding the shrimp(and let them feed on the naturally occurring food that grows in the tank)...

If I really wanted to save the shrimp I wouldve spent like 12 bucks for a ten gallon tank, set up some simple water movement in the tank and add gravel from the cycled tank(before you added the meds).
