What will eat flatworms in shrimp tank?

First, I did a search for "flatworm" and "flat worm" and found nothing. I have a 10g with about 7 adult and 30 juvenile cherry shrimp. I seem to have an excess of flatworms. They are small, 1-2mm flat worms, light tan color. These are not planaria. What would eat these flatworms ...

I have not seen any evidence that the guppies attack the adult cherry shrimp. There are plenty of hiding places in the guppy tank (plants, under broken pots, under flat rocks.) But you're right, the guppies would surely eat the young cherry shrimp. As for the guppies, I feed them moderately (not lig...

I only read something once, about this particular crab, about a year ago, and here is what I remember. Soap dish crabs are gathered from the wild (ocean beaches) (which means salt water) and packed, individually, in soap dishes for shipping, hence the name. Crabs in general are scavengers so these w...

Will salt harm cherry shrimp?

I have read the cherry shrimp article here and searched these forums for info on if ocean salt is bad for cherry shrimp. I am still not sure what the consensus is about salt and cherry shrimp. Here's my situation: 10g tank with 4 guppies and 3 cherry shrimp. I want to get the guppies to breed so pla...

I have 2 golden clams left in my tanks I got about 8 months ago from Aquabid. They do seem to starve to death. However you can feed them with a solution of yeast every other day if you want. Or make a separate tank of green water and feed them green water. They have not harmed anything as they are f...

Sounds like you have cyclops. Do a search on Google Images and you can find pics of them. They are about pinhead size, I have them too, and they like to cling to the glass then jump through the water. The females (with eggs) look like a raindrop with 2 bags behind them, which makes them "Y"...

Triops controls mosquito larva

I just read this week that in Japan, in the rice fields, they use triops to eat the mosquito larva. Pretty neat, as the triops will swim upside down at the top of the water and eat anything it can. Small goldfish also eat mosquito larva, as do sticklebacks, which eat only insect larva. I have used b...

Triangle things

Cyclops are real tiny white creatures shaped like a rain drop. The round end is their 'front', the tail end is the narrow end. Females can have an egg sack on each side of the tail, giving them the appearance of a triangle. Cyclops also like to stick to the glass and other surfaces. They swim by jer...

Tiger shrimp info please

In another shrimp there are some tiger shrimp being sold as glass shrimp. They look just like the ones I saw in my LFS too.

So, how big do the tiger shrimp get?
How long do they live?
What do they eat?

Thank you.

Mosquito dunks contain bacillus thuregensis, and the package I had specifically stated that it kills all invertebrates. Plus when I put some in a pond with some ghost shrimp, the shrimp were dead within days.

Per another note I wrote in another thread, my crayfish were found in a dark colored stream and they were dark. I put them in a tank with light colored sand, and after about 4 molts each, they are now light colored.

Crayfish changed color to match surroundings

Neat thing I noticed when I got crayfish #3 from a wild stream. First, I have 2 original crayfish who were dark colored when caught. Then I put them in a tank with light colored sand in June. They molted about 4 times each and have since gotten lighter, to match the light sand. So I found crayfish #...

Mine either

Though my 2 wild crayfish like to climb and explore, they will get to the top of the airline but not go out of the water.
