Re: My success story

By the way, does anyone know if the shrimps eat hair algae? I have a very flimsy brownish hair algae in my tank and I’m not sure if the shrimps eat that, I hope they do because it looks nasty. 16447293-7EAA-4E3C-9AEE-FA298DF670F1.jpeg You can see it a little bit on the top right corner in person it ...

Well, as you can see, the tank has progressed a lot and I’ve also introduced a marimo that is doing very well.

I’m just curious, any Bcn supershrimp owner out there? It would be really cool to create some kind of forum or whatsapp group.

Re: New Here!

My first and only tank is ready for shrimp (they’re coming this monday  ) and it only took about three or four weeks for the tank to be fully cycled. What I did is I just bought a 1 kilo live reef rock (without corals or anemones) and just waited. After two weeks there were already brown di...

Re: Acclimating freshwater snails

Hi mike.d, if you don't mind the slow process, I would suggest you get only one (olive nerite or horned nerite). Reason is they are so damn hard working, you don't want your 10 gal tank to be too clean. From my experience Hair algae and blue green algae they don't eat, their food is similar to supe...

Re: New to the Forum: Set up tank today

If where you live, mustafa ships in one day or two, he could put a heat bag and send the shrimps with no problems. Your shrimps would survive in the tank if they were about ten or twenty but I think it's safer to wait for everything to settle a bit (algae appearing on the rocks's surface, glass...) ...

Re: Do marimo balls survive in brackish water? (Experiment)

I have a 9 watt fluorescent desktop light.
I think that maybe the first marimo is ill because of some disease or I don’t know.
Right now, the small balls I’ve made with the first one look really good.

Re: Do marimo balls survive in brackish water? (Experiment)

Sidenote: I think there's a chaeto growing in there. It's growing visibly fast (1cm or more a day) and it's stringy. The little strings are from 0.2mm to 0.1mm.
I don't know how could have it gotten in my tank, really amazing.

Re: New tank after broken ecosphere.

If I was you I would definitely not put tap water in there. The chlorine kills algae and fish. Use the water instructed in the instant reef salt mix and buy some live rock/live sand or water from a reef tank and put it in there, after a couple of months or weeks you'll have everything as it should.
