That is true...the excitement never dims...even after 150,000+ offspring. :-D

A few have hatched now, and several females look like they'll be releasing offspring soon. I saw one female who seemed to be in the midst of laying the eggs. She had several in her swimmerets, but one within her body cavity. I had never seen that before,

I have a 1 gallon tank with 9 shrimp in it. I was thinking of getting more, especially with the half price going on right now. Since they are social creatures, how many would you recommend would be good to have in the tank? I was thinking a final number between 15 and 20 (for now).

Also my algae clump has become quite small and is almost gone. I had moved the tank around and it didn't ave a light for 2 weeks. With the new shrimp (and the little snails i have), should I buy another one or just give it a chance to regrow? Before I had the snails i used to have to remove clumps there was so much. Now it slowly grows and is maintained at a a small size.

I vote for 20. Less than that the tank can look empty at times. Good luck.

Yeah...20 is not a bad number for a 1 gallon. As for the macroalgae...I would wait for it regrow. If the conditions in your tank changed for whatever reason then the new macroalgae clump is also going to be affected by it and probably die off. The great thing about this Macroalgae is that is can sit there for months until conditions get better..."patiently" waiting for better times.

thanks! I was just worried that it would be eaten before it could regrow, but I can always buy more if that happens.

As for shipping, how long does it take for new shrimp to get here (California)? I leave for vacation on the 10th and wanted to make sure they would arrive before that.

Only takes 2 days within Cali usually...unless you live in San Diego country or LA area..then it takes usually only one day.

You're welcome. I try my best...and sometimes fail, but I keep trying. :)
