What is going on with my shrimp

Post by Kneedles »

Hello!
I have been gone for 3 months at an internship, and I came home To this one shrimp looking completely different then it did when I left. The large white thing in the abdomen wasn't there before. I thought maybe it ment that it was preggers, however from what pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like it. Anyone have any idea why my shrimp looks like that? Or am I just imagining things? Lol thanks everyone

Immature eggs (ovaries). During the next mold they will become red and will migrate to the legs.

When that area is white it's not really eggs. That area right behind the head (so that's not the abdomen as you thought in your initial post)is dark when there are immature eggs developing. Not sure what causes the whiteness but some shrimp get it and it seems to be harmless.
