I WAS SO CLOSE!
SO CLOSE I TELL YA!!!! I made a pit stop at the LPS yesterday evening to drop off shrimp care sheets (I've kind of become the store's RCS supplier), and the manager told me that he had ordered the vampire shrimp I requested, but they didn't come in! But, I was happy to hear that a lady that works at the zoo bought all of my RCS, and I applied for a job.
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I need more shrimp!

One tip when picking up special ordered critters from the LFS:
Ask the manager if he will keep them in their shipping bags and call you immediately when they come in. That way, they don't have to be transferred into and out of the shop aquariums and will be less stressed from the ordeal.
Can't wait to see your vampires.

Of course, I wouldn't suggest withholding males from anyone who is a real invert enthusuast, but might do this if I was selling to a pet store that wanted them on a consistent basis.
I'd just explain that the females are the most desirable and brightly colored and that I was making an effort to provide the highest quality stock for sale. If males were requested then I would almost certainly provide them too, but who wants ugly little pale RCS?

I got the idea from keeping Betta splendens. The store that I have brought the shrimp to has an awesome manager. He knows his stuff when it comes to anything that has to do with the aquarium hobby. The owner is also a fish keeper.
Yeah, about those snowball shrimp...please look in my thread on them...
