I think looking at the Carapace is a good way to look for if the shrimps are adult. I had a young cherry(3-4months) that looked like a male, because its Carapace was smaller compared to the females. But after it molted its Carapace suddenly became more low hanging.
Bradimus wrote:There is a great deal of variation in the amount of red a Cherry shrimp has. Males tend to have less, but there are females with relatively little red. I think it is easier/more reliable to look for the female's low-hanging carapace.

You are welcome. :D
I will try to take some photo of MALE.. Like me, they just won't sit still !! :-D :-D :-D

I noticed that even the babies shrimp develop this colour charateristic even when there are a few week old.

Male - Pinkish white
Female - Darker Pink or Red :smt007

And yes, come to think of it... they do look like different species.
Especially the older female, they look a lot different...

These are pixs of young female:

Thank you for pictures once again. You finally caught the handsome father in the act. :-D
From looking at those 2 pictures, I am pretty sure I dont have any males in the tank. Because they are all red. :?
