I've seen that 'dish' before in some documentary. It turned my stomach. I couldn't stand that 1) the little shrimpies were still alive and 2) the marinade and spices were obviously hurting them.
In the video I saw, they showed the shrimp (that looked very much like a kind of grass shrimp) being dipped in the juice. As soon as it hit them, they started jumping around like they had hit an electrified plate
My boyfriend uses this scenario to tease/punish me now. If I 'misbehave' he threatens to pull out my shrimp by the handful and eat them in that style
