I'm all for experimenting. That's the only way to find out if something works or not. I found out it doesn't, but the more experiments the better.

Well the shrimp in question was removed to the main tank with no more issues yesterday.... I sort of failed at this little experiment and didnt watch very close for the last week or so and am guessing the shrimp molted. There was really no sign of gradual removal of the problem, it was just gone a day or two ago indicating a molt solved the issue.

Sorry to hear your experiment failed. I was curious about the results. Sometimes when you have multiple tanks going, it's possible to miss a molt. But at least your shrimp is okay!
