Is that just the light, or is there some red on your Malawa shrimp?

Yes, I have some strange coloration happening. One of my malawas is "banded" with orange rings... very peculiar. Cross breeding with the Cherries?

Nah...I highly doubt it's crossbreeding. It's probably just natural variation.

Is the house still standing or has it become a casualty of the explosion? :-D

In case anyone is wondering, Malawas are SUPER robust... and profilic. I think they will last a long time in the hobby - way more interesting to watch than cherries in my opinion....

Mine keep breeding... and breeding...

Agree, they are a very adaptable species. I would not be surprised to see mutations fairly soon, too.

That's not a mutation, though. That's part of their normal range of coloration. These guys can be very variable...even the same shrimp at different points in its life. Glad to see they are still thriving! :)
