Considering 10g Ghost Shrimp Tank
I'm considering starting up a 10g Ghost Shrimp tank and if I do decide to go through with it I was just wondering what would be a good stocking number? I'm hoping they will breed and sustain themselves and they would be the only thing I would keep in the tank.

April ghost shrimp or glass shrimp are not as easy to breed as say cherry shrimp. Check out species description.

Ken, thanks for the reply! Hmm, I still think I will at least try the Ghost Shrimp if I do. I really love the look of them better than the Cherry Shrimp.

Great go for it. My lfs sells them as feed. 10 cents a piece. They are larger and active. Good luck and share pictures.

Re: Considering 10g Ghost Shrimp Tank
hi April, i have some ghost shrimp going right now (as they are the only thing i can afford) and i would suggest no more than 2-5 shrimp per gallon for ghosts to keep them comfy.

Thanks Jones, I am thinking about starting out with 10 and hoping they will breed and continue their numbers from there. How long have you had yours and what tank setup do you use for them?

Re: Considering 10g Ghost Shrimp Tank
10 is a great size to start with. i dont have a breeding colony of them just yet, but i have around 50 maybe in a 40 gallon breeder with guppies and silver tip tetras, lightly planted. i know this is going to make some cringe reading that but its all good. i keep everyone well fed. no losses there yet.
my other set up is a 20 gallon tall with mosquito fish and some ghosts. plastic plants sponge filter and small gravel. really bad idea. no matter how much i feed the 'squitos they still pick at the poor little guys. i have to move them.
ill post some pictures in a couple days after i get home along with my water parameters.

Yes, pictures would be great! And make sure to post them in a new topic so it's easier to follow.
