First Timer!

Post by ssdarling »

Hi everyone! I just received my shrimp, snails and algae yesterday and everyone is happy in their new home! I will definitely be having to get more though because only a single order looks SUPER tiny in a huge 5 gallon tank. Solution: more shrimps!

My snails are burrowing in the sand substrate and don't seem to have moved much from where I dropped them in. Do they have trouble moving in sand?

Welcome! Yes that is a huge tank considering a 1 gal can hold a lot. Lol. Your snails are fine. They will do that and they can move and burrow just fine in the sand. I have some at home that has grown and reproduced while some at my work stayed burrowed for months! Only recently I’ve seen them come out to eat and now they’re growing in size.
