Something Jelly Appeared In My Tank
I added some Caulerpa in my tank from a friend of mine. I can only assume this came attached in the polyp stage has probably been in the tank for a long time. This tank is 2 years old & I hadn't added anything till around 6 months ago.

Vorteil - that is incredible! I have watched the video several times. Can it live in brackish water? If so, will it eat the shrimp? I wonder if the poor thing will be lonely being the only jelly in tank ..... Thanks for taking the time to share this amazing occurrence and video.

These are so pretty. Toxic but great to look at lol. The article says they eat copepods I wonder if they might eat opae too? Fascinating. It looks very happy and healthy. I like it!
Re: Something Jelly Appeared In My Tank
Seems to be more than one in the tank. I've counted maybe 6 so far? They move around so it seems they are never in the same place the next day. I'm surprised they are in brackish water and doing well it seems.

This is really cool, are they still alive?

Are they still around? If so, they must be snacking on something (such as shrimp larvae, juveniles) to stick around. Very interesting animals!
Re: Something Jelly Appeared In My Tank
Yes still around. I'm planning to remove these to a separate tank. I don't see the copepods as I used to as well as any Opae Ula floaters.

I see, keep us updated. These are very interesting animals. They did not reproduce, I assume, right?
Re: Something Jelly Appeared In My Tank
I think it came on some Caulerpa Prolifera. It had been in my tanks for over 4 months maybe? I hadn't added anything new so that's the only thing I could think of.

How is the Caulerpa Prolifera doing in the brackish water so far? Does it require stronger salt concentration than typical brackish water?
Re: Something Jelly Appeared In My Tank
It's doing too good. I don't care for it anymore due to the fact that it grows too fast.

Do you tanks get direct sunlight in addition to LED light?
