What is this white fuzz?

I first noticed the white fuzz on the lava rocks about 6 months ago and did not know how or why it was on the rocks.
I purchased new lava rocks from Mustafa and within about 2 months, the white fuzz was back.
Does anyone know what this is? Is there a way to get rid of it?

I tried to take a better picture of the white fuzz.
I still have no idea what it is or where it came from.
It’s hard to see but it is a white fuzz.

I agree, it's some type of filamentous bacterium or fungus. Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure the shrimp will eat it sooner or later.

I don’t think it’s biofilm because biofilm is on the surface of the water. It almost looks like some kind of fungus BUT the shrimp are not eating it.
They walk all over it, they do not eat it at all.

They may not be eliminating it, but i'm sure they'll pick at it, at least the parts that are decaying.

I think I’ll just take the lava rocks out and replace them.
The white fuzzy stuff is spreading off the the lava rocks onto the substrate.
It just doesn’t look right to me at all.

Yes, I even noticed some of the white fuzz on top of some of the snails.
