New here with an ID question
Hi all. New here and was wondering if anyone can ID these guys for me. They're approximately 1/2" - 3/4" long with red eyes.
TIA
TIA
Thanks for the replies, guys.
Yeah, that looks like remnants of some blue on that one there. I'll try snapping some pictures of them once they've settled in. They were a bit more brownish coming from the tank that they were in, but that might have to do with the limited amount of lighting that was over that tank.

Shrimp ID
If these are new they may not be colored up yet. My amano shrimp (Caridina japonica) looked just like this when they first came. After a week or so they became a light green, then the dots on their sides showed up. I have a few that never showed dots at all and just are light green. A few are a deep blue.
Yes, it could be that shrimp. But then, there are tons of species in the indopacific that have the general body shape and coloration of these shrimp. Some are closely related and others are not. Hard to tell what species you have without an indication of where exactly they were caught.Ibn wrote:Yup, same species as the first set of pictures. Just finally settled in and picked up their colors.
I actually took a look over at Frank's Aquarium and he has what looks like the same shrimp. It's on the list as Red Dragon Shrimp, a Caridinia sp. from Indonesia.
