Egg color and species ID

Post by cyndayco »

If two shrimp look exactly the same, except that one has green eggs and the other has whitish eggs, does that mean they belong to different species?

At first, I thought the color difference was due to different stages of egg development. But it's been over a week and the colors have not changed.

Egg color alone does not indicate different species. Besides, it's useless to try to figure out if you have different species without posting some kind of recognizable picture.
