HELP!!!! Need advice asap.

Post by -GlitcH- »

Ok today I did close to a fifty percent water change on my shrimp tank (20G) and for some reason I lost one of my pregnant shrimp.

I've heard I can save the eggs if I keep them in a current.....I don't know how to safely get the eggs off the dead shrimp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Oh ya......they are RCS and I have put the dead shrimp near the filter outlet in a 3x4 800 micron media bag. I won't take any action until I hear from u pros.

Thx

I doubt what you've done will be successful, but it also has probably the best chance of working of anything you could do.

Unless you have a cannister filter, then I'd put the body inside the filter.

But don't expect much.

Cherry shrimp breed so readily I would never bother to do this. I would also think that having a dead shrimp body inside a filter bag would allow chemicals from decomposition to build up (even if a few escape) and kill the eggs.
