Univalve in tank?

I have seen several odd critters on the side of my 10 gallon shrimp tank lately. They have a single oval, convex shell covering their back, similar in shape to a clam. They are small, less than 1 cm, very slow-moving critters. The bottom/body looks somewhat like a snail, though it's hard to get a good look since they're so small. Any idea what they are?

From your description I think they may be freshwater limpets. I have them in my tanks too. They seem harmless.

That be them, thanks. I didn't know where to start for an info search. Have you seen any larger ones? They must have been tiny hitchikers on plants, I've only seen them recently.

If your limpets are like the ones in my tanks, they will grow to 5 mm max. They've never given me any problems.
